Rich's 2007 White Tail Buck
It was a slow
season so I did some scouting and found a hot spot, a spot with
scraps and a few rubs.
I got up early Monday to make certain I
got my climber set up before light. At about 8:00 this nice 7 pointer walked in behind a doe at about
50 yards. The doe ran off at about sixty yards.
The buck started walking towards my tree to check a scrape 15
yards from my tree.
At about 30 yards he turned broad side and
started to walk back they way he came with the doe.
I shot and I missed. I breathed slowly into my grunt call, and
like magic and much to my surprise he turned around and started
walking back to the scrape.
Now he was at 20 yards and suddenly looked right up at me, not
liking the situation he turned and started to walk away.
I
drew my bow, relaxing into the shot, and the arrow hit him perfectly
behind the shoulder. I waited about an hour
before getting down from
the tree. I followed his trail and found him about 70 yards from
where I shot him.
